After a brief search on autotrader.com, I found Grand Prix Motors selling exactly what I was looking for. A few phone calls later, we had a gentlemen\'s agreement that also made some concession for my trip from the SF Bay Area to Portland, Oregon. Since I would be traveling a fair distance, I also asked Val if he would mind if a third party mechanic did a pre-purchase inspection. Val was very understanding and was willing to take the car to the mechanic (that I chose) himself and drop it off. The inspection came back clean, and we were on our way to Oregon, where Val picked us up from the airport in the X6. A few hours later, we were on our way back to CA, this time behind the wheel. (As a side note, I\'ve since had a well known local shop also look at the car and they likewise agreed it was in great condition.) Post-purchase, Val also helped out with a minor hiccup I encountered while registering the car in California. Nothing to do with Grand Prix Motors or the car- just California DMV evidently confused that someone was registering a car from out of state. You\'d think they\'d have dealt with that before, but that\'s another story. (Zero stars for the DMV.) Based on our excellent experience, I have no trouble highly recommending Grand Prix Motors to anyone. Val is a car guy himself and clearly enjoys what he\'s doing, and his overall demeanor made the whole transaction really pleasant.
