Nobody likes to find a scratch on their car, it just ruins the overall aesthetic value! However, scratches are a bigger problem than just looking bad. Given enough time, the paint damage can spread, and rust can appear, which can literally eat your vehicle alive. Obviously, you want to address scratches immediately to prevent this! It’s easy to think that this would be a difficult task, requiring an auto body shop. However, applying touch up paint yourself is remarkably easy to do.

After cleaning the scratch with warm water and soap, sand the area down with 220 grit sandpaper (600 grit if the scratch has penetrated all layers of paint) until smooth. If deep enough, apply primer, and stand it smooth as well. Then, applying touch up paint using a fine tool such as a small brush, match stick or toothpick. Once it dries, the scratch is gone, and you’re all done!
